A Taste of Beer Goes with a Helping of Charity at the San Diego Festival of Beer
Imagine: 6,000 people, local musicians, and samplings from 70 of the best breweries around. The cause for such a great gathering? The 16th annual San Diego Festival of Beer! Not only is this a night to remember for those in attendance, all proceeds from the event will be donated to local cancer-fighting causes.
Taking place on the evening of September 10th, the San Diego Festival of Beer is now run by the San Diego Professionals Against Cancer with the intent of giving back to the community in an enjoyable way. They have promised at least 70 breweries to be in attendance, offering up samples of beer for tasters. Each will bring at least three kegs a piece, and each has vowed to tap a fourth need be. There will be food and munchies for sale inside, as well as glasses of wine for those who may want a slightly different taste. The first 6,000 guests will receive a free souvenir event logo tasting mug that is theirs to use throughout the evening and to keep when they go home. Sounds like a tasty deal!
The festival is being held on the streets at Columbia and B in downtown San Diego, taking place from 6-11pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance here for a lower rate, or at the entrance the night of. Each brewery in attendance completely donates their own beer, allowing the SDPAC to have donated almost a half a million dollars to local cancer-fighting organizations from past Festival of Beers! Come be part of a fun night in San Diego, and help support local charities at the same time. You can't beat good music, good beer, and good company, except maybe when it's all to benefit a great cause.
