Carmel Valley
Community Info:
The master-planned community of Carmel Valley is located in the northwestern corner of San Diego, just a few miles inland of the Los Peñasquitos Marsh Natural Preserve and Lagoon along the Pacific Ocean. Oracle Corporation, US Bank, Scripps Health, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, Fish & Richardson, Morrison & Foerster and The Allen Group all have offices in Carmel Valley. Accordingly, a large percentage of the Carmel Valley’s population is employed at these large companies.
The I-5 interstate forms the community’s western boundary and is bisected by a state highway 56. This efficient proximity to major arteries allows residents an easy commute to work in the local high tech industries of Sorrento Valley, along with Downtown San Diego.
Education is taken very seriously within the community. The numerous neighborhoods allure parents who are seeking an education for their children that is second to none. Due to its recent development, Carmel Valley boasts an overlay of various school districts. The northern section is part of the Solana Beach School District while the southern section is managed by the Del Mar Union School District.
