Del Sur Named Nation’s 2011 Community of the Year
San Diego’s Del Sur has just been named the 2011 Community of the Year by Builder and Developer Magazine. Builder and Developer surveys multiple industry professionals who collectively choose a winner each December.
20 years in the making, Del Sur is comprised of eight neighborhoods created by five different builders. Del Sur offers six neighborhood parks, five with year-round swimming pools heated with solar panels.
Beyond its variety of home offerings and parks, the north San Diego neighborhood also offers 18 miles of shared trails accessible by Del Sur residents; three school sites; and future commercial, retail, office and employment space.Area schools Del Sur Elementary School and Del Norte High School are both top-rated schools within the Poway Unified School District.
“Equipped for high-style living, recreation, working and learning, Del Sur is really a phenomenal community,” said Bill Ostrem, president and CEO of Black Mountain Ranch LLC, developer of Del Sur.“It’s an honor to be recognized by Builder & Developer as Community of the Year.”
Located in the coastal hills of San Diego – between interstates 5 and 15 and just north of state Route 56 – the North County community is surrounded by approximately 1,000 acres of open space to explore.
Seven new home neighborhoods are now selling at Del Sur, with prices ranging from the high $400,000s to $1 million. Five model complexes – featuring attached, detached, single-level and multi-story floor plans– are open for tours.
