The POW! Foundation has Nutured Poway's Performing Arts Community for 20 Years

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the "POW! Foundation", a non-profit responsible for booking performances and professional artists for the city-owned Poway Center for the Performing Arts. Founded in 1990, the foundation has had a strong influence on the art and cultural community.
Each year the Foundation, in partnership with the City of Poway and the Poway Unified School District, assembles a line up of top-notch talent from the worlds of drama, dance, music, comedy and more. Additionally, the Foundation sponsors the Arts in Education Initiative, a series of programs designed to give students 'up close and personal' experiences with living, working artists via workshops and master classes.
Tickets are now on sale for their exciting 2010-2011 lineup, including the Poway Music Fest featuring Chris Hillman and Herb Pederson, Masters of the Fiddle: Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy, Rave On!: A Tribute to the Music of Buddy Holly, and the Missoula Children's Theater performing The Wizard of Oz.
Located on Espola Road, the Poway Center for the Performing Arts is a great asset to the community, bringing culture, education, and fun to North County. Explore their website here for additional events, information, and directions.
