Hensley's Flying Elephant Pub & Grill Last December, here in Back at the Ranch, we shared a story of Gavin Marquez, who is battling Tay Sachs Disease. Gavin’s mother, Jannelle would like to invite the entire community to participate in their fundraiser being held this month on Friday, August 20 at 6 pm at Hensley’s Flying Elephant Pub & Grill located at 850 Tamarack Avenue in Carlsbad. This charity event will benefit the Cure Tay-Sachs Foundation and the Marquez family, whose son Gavin is battling this very rare and fatal genetic disease. The night will consist of live music from the CCMA bands and Groove Kitty Dance Rocks with other performers. In addition, there will be a live and silent auction and raffle for exciting prizes. Food and beverage will be available for purchase. This will be an adults-only event. Entrance fee tickets will be $5 per person. Many volunteers are needed for this event. If you are interested, please contact Beth at 760-685-2126. The goal for the event is not only to raise funds, but to also increase awareness of Tay-Sachs Disease and to spread the hope that the cure is around the corner. Please join us on this night and in spreading the word.
