Yeehaw! Rodeo Brings Old West to Poway on September 24th and 25th
On September 24th and 25th, the Poway will combine traditions of the old West with Cowboy heritage in the city's annual Poway Rodeo. The event is a natural fit with Poway, whose “city in the country” motto plays up a rural and horse-friendly atmosphere despite the city’s close proximity to bustling San Diego.
The Poway Rodeo Committee promises a fast-paced, exciting event this year that will leave you at the edge of your seat. The Rodeo itself features favorite events such as steer wrestling, barrel racing, and bull riding, but there's so much more. Vendors will be available for food and souvenirs, there are clown acts and drill team routines for additional entertainment, and the crowning of the Rodeo Royalty is a must see. And after all of that, there will be a free Rodeo Dance for those who are 21 and older to attend afterwards.
The Poway Rodeo has been a community favorite for the past 38 years, and a fun and exciting event for visitors of all ages. The Rodeo takes place at the horse stadium just off of Twin Peaks Road, and tickets can be purchased online, at The Hamburger Factory and a number of other businesses, or at the rodeo grounds on the day of. Come see what makes the Poway Rodeo unique, and why they call it "America's original extreme sport!"
